To be missed

Because our time here so close to DC is winding down and we wanted to feel we had done some little something as opposed to nothing at all we spent a few days in DC and on Saturday added our voice to those protesting the war in Iraq. Thursday, we heard Jonathan Harris speak about his internet projects. (See previous post “Ideas for writing.”) He spoke about privacy and said he does not keep a blog; he underscored that he is an artist — he went into computer science out of deep discouragement with painting and art, which he initially was studying at school, and spoke of the sketchbooks he’s kept over the years. Some are on his website. Also, Friday, explored the The Book As Art: Twenty Years of Artists’ Books exhibit at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

Blue to be leaving this area, I’m trying to come up with projects involving Cincinnati that might spark enthusiasm. Your ideas are quite welcome. (And thanks, H.H. for having missed me here.)
