How to prevent gross-outs over skin biopsies

Does Emily Post cover topics like these, I wonder, or is (the prevalence of) skin cancer too new? The day before I left for PA, I had to have these two spots biopsied. While I was in PA, I had a bunch of things to go to, like a wedding shower for my sister’s firstborn daughter. My brother had these cool “tattoo” bandaids.

Yeah, I got the results: one is the real thing. Depressing, but my friend J. assures me that it’s happened to her and no big deal. My sister (mother of the bride-to-be) said, “That’s what you get for taking your silly a$$ outside to tan all those years. Remember how Mom used to yell at you to pull your legs together, when you were laying out in the backyard making sure your inner thighs were also evenly bronzed?”

Thanks, L., I do now!

For what it’s worth, those bandaids are pretty cool.

I understand. My dermatologist once remarked, while burning pre-cancerous lesions off my face, that I was of the age to “begin paying for the sins of my past.”
