Meanwhile in the U.S., the Blooker Prize is born
Raleigh, N.C. — The website Lulu.com, which enables amateur authors to publish and sell their own books, is sponsoring the first literary prize for “blooks” — or books based on blogs or websites.
A shortlist will be announced in March; the winner on April 3. The 3rd? Why that specific day? What do you get?
The prize awards a modest $1,000 (U.S.) in each of three categories and $2,000 for one overall winner.
Modest — good use of the word.
